I know, i'm weird, they're weird, but i really like that
song. I think it's an unbeautiful melody (like spinning plates, radiohead)
however, this next melody, i dont like so much. BUT
(and this is a big butt) i love the drums in it. It sounds very fun to play and
i'm excited to learn it. Enjoy it for yourselves!
Here's another two-for-one deal, except this time it's not with poetry, it's with music.
reading about the war in the Gaza strip, and seeing (explicit) pictures of it, i thought of this song by Radiohead:
Like Spinning Plates is actually played backwards, and the way that Thom sings the melody is also backwards. originally they recorded the whole thing forward (like normal artists), but then they played the recording backwards and liked it... so they learned how to play it and sing it that way (backwards) and it's what we hear. only Radiohead can pull something like this off. and i think it's one of their best tracks yet. Absolutely haunting. (just so we're clear... the words that Thom sing are NOT sung backwards... those still go forward like normal, haha. Only the melody is sung backwards from it's original composition. )
While you make pretty speeches,
I'm being cut to shreds.
You feed me to the lions,
a delicate balance
When this just feels like spinning plates.
I'm living in cloud cuckoo land.
And this just feels like spinning plates
Our bodies floating down the
muddy river.

and i dont think xanga will allow me to post two videos in one post.... cheap dirtbags. the drum video will be the post up top, before this one. haha, i'm so technically challenged... maybe i need a really geeky technical girl to balance out how challenged i am.
This is a new poem. I rarely post new poems. But here it is.
under the ring of a lunar rainbow
fresh and clean and soft
it's 5 A.M. iridescence - strong - a full moon
breaking through the quiet
fragile clouds
like a silhouette of gods
hunger is out Tonight
and this Morning
curses their castle not bright nor dark but laden with frost
the frozen tears of moon
under the romance of twilight the lavender kiss of dawn i see my reflection in dark waters, lit by the night, and i look a mere pawn i see a mere dud
i'm simply a big fish
under the river, swimming to a lake
not knowing there are bigger fish to seek not seeing where the questions are nor hearing when the answers speak.
My answers are in the tides of oceans
and i want passion, i want Truth, i want me, i want you i want crazy, i want stories i want greed, and i want hate i want justice, i want peace.. i want death - i want scars..
i want life and i want love, but what i want, i cant have and so i've given up.
i'm just a big fish (in a small lake) whose moon cries for him (whose mornings are late) in the silhouette of demons
(i can't escape)
here's a haiku i wrote awhile back, entitled My Dog.
friends will come and go, but Death sits and waits, faithful like a dog, loyal.
and to lighten the mood a bit, here's a poem by jared and calvin
an ode
when she is around, i know that she is near when she is away, i dream that she is neat the day brings her smell in the air the night brings her warmth 'neath my sheets oh gaseous cloud, you are like art oh puff of stench, you are a fart.
thank you, jared and calvin. if you want to visit their site, where they can help you with the recession (in blogging), please click on the link provided below.
with all your morals, your convictions, your world views-
PROTEST.
because Scientology kills. it is a worldwide scam, stealing money and lives, and i will protest this movie solely because it's Tom Cruise. He is a missionary of lies, and i will not fall for them.
i will not watch the movie in theaters, nor will i rent it when it's out. i'll most definitely not buy it, and i'll try my best not to watch it when it's free. i'll just read about Claus von Stauffenberg in my free time. whatever.
this is a pretty laid back protest, i admit there are no picket signs nor marches nor chains... but not letting Cruise or Scientology get my money is good enough for me.
and does anyone else see the irony in this? he plays a man on a mission to kill Hitler, the snake-head of the Nazi regime. why's this ironic? because Scientology is run like a Nazi regime, brain-washing and all... and apparently Tom Cruise is rumored to be the #2 guy in Scientology. #1 is David Miscarriage, the president of Scientology (that's not how you actually spell his last name).
